In our efforts to go through and update servers such as Skyblock and KitPvP, improving them and making them up to par with out other servers, it should be no surprise that Parkour was next on the block for getting a re-haul. So what exactly does this update bring?
New Ore Levels
The ore levels were old and stale, many players have already played through them and their difficulties were often times questionable. The difficulty is still difficult, but hopefully they're not as off as Iron 3 being more difficult than Diamond 2. Along with the new parkour courses are new parkour rooms, as the old ones were very outdated and lacking in design. Ore levels are the only way to earn coins currently.
Many people have been awaiting the release of rainbow parkour, and now it is being released alongside the updated parkour server. Each color has three levels, and they progress to be harder just as the ore levels do. However, these levels are more of 'casual' levels. They will not provide coin rewards, but rather give other unlocks. The rainbow levels are not as difficult as the ore ones, which is why they are considered casual levels.
Something we've added to the parkour server is a plethora of different cosmetics to be unlocked or earned in a variety of ways.
Nickname Color: We've added the ability to purchase nickname colors after beating all three levels of a rainbow parkour. These nicknames will be server-wide, but they will be rather expensive to purchase. We want them to be something you have to work towards and earn if you really want a nickname. (This does not mean that donator nicknames are useless now. All this does is allow people to change the color of their name, nothing more.)
Hats: We've implemented more hats to be earned and collected. All ore hats require you to beat all three levels to earn, and there are also player purchasable ones as well as donator hats.
Trails: We've put trails in as well, which are particle effects that follow you as you walk. You can earn trails by donating and getting exclusive trails, or purchasing other trails in game with coins. There is also a trail you earn after beating every rainbow level.
Armor: We've made the ability to put on sets of armor possible. Armors become purchasable after beating the parkours they're attached to, or donating for exclusive donator-only armor.
Pets: We've fulfilled the requests to add pets into ParkourCraft. There will be donator-exclusive pets, but there will be pets you can purchase in game as well. Again, depending on the pet, they will be rather expensive because we want them to be a specialty, not something every single person can easily obtain.
A new spawn has been built for the parkour server, along with multiple secrets built.
The server has been updated, so we're able to include slime blocks into the courses
The possibilities for more parkour ideas in the future to be flushed out.
Thank you to all staff members who helped make this server possible!
Remember: This will be our first run of everything, and nothing will be finalized just yet. More cosmetics will become avaliable over time as we add more to the server, and pricing may change as we see fit as the server goes on. The main reason for the high pricing is because it provides a reason to play parkour. Before, there was nothing to do with your coins and if everything was cheap it'd be like KitPvP is now, in which you run out of things to buy in a day. But, everything is subject to change. We hope you enjoy the update! Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays!
