For quite a while ParkourCraft has been under the direction defined by upper staff members leading projects or me. We intend to make a new way to pass ideas to us through a political system.

The written guidelines for this system can be found here, and will remain there if anything is updated.

While I recommend you visit that page and give it a once over, I will do my best to summarize.

There are three steps to this process. Firstly, the community-based input will occur through a Proposal Thread where anyone can submit an idea under the preset format. That thread will be reviewed by members of the Committee, and if deemed proper, a new thread known as a Discussion Thread will be started by an Overseer. Over a specified period of time the community can civilly argue over the Proposal, and then the thread will be locked and a Voting Thread will begin. There, members of the committee will have a vote, deciding whether or not the idea should go through.

The committee is comprised of three types of members: Delegate, Overseer, and Minister. All staff members by default are considered Delegates, but they can also be nominated on a per-proposal basis or nominated through a Proposal Thread. Those nominations will be decided by an Overseer.

If you are interested in taking part in this process I highly recommend you take a look at the google doc.

I’m not trying to be stupid but how do you make a Proposal Thread?

Slayer's thread is a good example, albeit much longer than a standard proposal has to be. Basically, it needs to be a fairly important and well fleshed out idea put into a paragraph or two that has room to be altered during the discussion process.

all we need now is a constitution(more like rules but looks more professional and classy), judicial branch(there to just look good) and a president(does nothing. But would be nice to have a title that we can compete for; also gets unlimited cookies) and we're all set. (Btw I accept any grammar nazis criticism)

I realize that this process is quite complicated, and I'm worried that will diswade people from involving themselves. I created a 'Simple' explanation which exists on the main document, but will state it here.
The point of this system is to give players the ability to suggest ideas, for them to be discussed, and then voted upon by the Committee. The Committee is made up of Delegates who are reputable community members and server staff.

Steps go as follows. Ideas are submitted through a Proposal Thread. Temporary Committee members can be nominated. An upper Committee member will create a Discussion Thread and accept nominations which are announced after the discussion. Once the discussion closes, a Voting Thread will be created and the Committee will vote over a 48 hour period.

Notable update

We're changing the structure of what threads need to be made. Instead of a separate proposal and discussion thread, we're merging the two. Originally they were split due to factors that are no longer an issue, so now it only makes sense to simplify things.

Therefore, the description of the system now reads:

The point of this system is to give players the ability to suggest ideas, for them to be discussed, and then voted upon by the Committee. The Committee is made up of Delegates who are reputable community members and server staff.

Steps go as follows. Ideas are submitted through a Proposal Thread. Temporary Committee members can be nominated. The Proposal thread will also act as a Discussion Thread and an upper Committee member will announce accepted nominations after the discussion. Once the discussion closes, a Voting Thread will be created and the Committee will vote over a 48 hour period.
